Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is a May 2015 release by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two of the most notable covers the artist has done. Katy Perry's praise for her song Runaway in a blog post added to the musician's recognition. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memories involve finding a tiny piano that was in her basement, and bewildered by the sound it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes urged Aurora to pursue music, not as a job or a hobby and as a way to grow. They inspired her to write. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork for being among her inspirations. The singer decided to perform her songs publicly when her mom suggested they could help people not gain acclaim for her work, but instead help those around them see their importance and the ways they can affect the world. The piano was her first instrument when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. Family members didn't even have any idea about it until she was fourteen. The dream was never to be Aurora. According to her, she simply likes to write songs. She claims that music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
