Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn was born in the United States. Her most well-known character is Skyler White in her role on the AMC show Breaking Bad, for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2013 and 2014 for Outstanding Supporting actress in a Drama Series. Her other appearances include Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Anna Gunn began acting as an elementary school student as a child in Sante Fe New Mexico. After that, her family relocated to Ohio and she continued her passion for the stage. She was a theatre student in the theatre department at Northwestern University and spent a period at the British American Drama Academy. Anna had a brief stint working in Chicago the theatre before moving to TV and film roles. Anna had her biggest break in the year 1992, when she portrayed Arden for 29 episodes of Down the Shore. As a guest-star, Anna played in Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue. In fact, it was not until the end of the 1990s when she was cast in the role of The Practice. Martha Bullock was her role in Deadwood in two full seasons. She was cast in Breaking Bad as Skyler, in 2008. In addition, she was a part of the Deadwood film as well as Sully. Gunn has also appeared on stage in David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. Gunn acted as Numbered Days, a four part audio podcast in 2022. Breaking Bad is often centered on the relationships that Walter White with his wife Skyler. Their strained bond and final break-up echoes the final years in Walter White's personal life.
